Paramount to enter western Indian skies

Private carrier Paramount Airways, which has a strong presence in South India, would enter the Western Indian skies by the end of this year and add 15 more aircraft to its kitty in the next three years.

Talking to visiting reporters here after the launch of Paramount’s fourth flight in the Chennai-Madurai sector last evening, company’s Managing Director M Thiagarajan said the airline would try to provide maximum number of services across the cities in the Western region.

Kingfisher to fly new routes, add more flights

Vijay Mallya-promoted Kingfisher Airlines plans to launch more flights on new routes in its summer schedule, beginning March besides introducing services connecting Tier-II cities in the western and southern regions.

“We will increase the number of flights on our trunk routes like Mumbai-Delhi, Mumbai-Bangalore, and Mumbai-Kolkata from March this year in our new summer schedules,” Kingfisher Airlines general manager (sales) Manoj Chacko told PTI.

The airline, which has a fleet of 25 aircraft, will also fly two daily flights connecting Delhi-Chennai, he added.

Paramount increases Madurai-Chennai link

Paramount Airways has added an additional flight between Madurai and Chennai, which is effective from February 26.

Introduced as an evening flight, it will leave Chennai at 16.00 hrs and reach Madurai at 16.55 hrs.

It will return from Madurai at 17.20 hrs and reach Chennai at 18.15 hrs.

Jet Airways to start flights to Brussels in August

India’s largest private airline company Jet Airways will make a stopover in Brussels for its flights between Mumbai and New York in the US, according to local media reports.

The service that is due to start this August will provide the first direct air link between Belgium and India, says INEP.

At present travellers to India from Belgium have to take connecting flights from other cities including Paris, Frankfurt and Amsterdam.

Jet starts daily flights to Bangkok

Jet Airways has started daily direct flights from both Delhi and Kolkata to Bangkok. In a statement, the airline has said that the flight is to be operated with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft that offers seating in business and economy class.

Airlines from Singapore can operate to Coimbatore

India and Singapore have agreed to increase the number of seats being offered by their designated airlines in a phased manner till winter 2009.

The designated airlines of Singapore will now be allowed to operate regular flights to Coimbatore, there by increasing its footprint here. This was firmed up at the conclusion of bilateral air services agreement between India and Singapore here late on Tuesday night.
