Budget carriers to board global ticketing network

You may soon get a ticket of budget carriers in the global distribution system (GDS), a ticket facilitation network that was primarily used by full service carriers, like Jet Airways, Air-India or Indian Airlines.

Leading international GDS enabled travel facilitators such as Abacus, Galileo and Amedeus are in talks with country’s low-fare carriers to bring them into this integrated system.

The low cost carriers of the country include Air Deccan, SpiceJet, GoAir and IndiGo. These four budget carriers together enjoys over 32 per cent market share in India.
