US looks up to India for developing bio-terror response

Impressed with the advancements in the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals here, the United States is keen on collaborating with India in developing response on bio-terrorism attacks.

Stressing on the need to develop “an agile and large network” of labs in India to identify and counter the pandemic strains of virus, Rajiv Venkayya, Special Assistant to US President for Bio-Defence, White House Homeland Security Council, said advance preparedness would help tackling any threats of pandemic, whether they are caused by nature or a bio-terrorist attack.
