Airports face staff shortage

The Delhi International Airport (DIAL), the GMR-Fraport JV that is modernising the airport in the Capital, recently made an offer to absorb all the existing employees of Airports Authority of India (AAI) based at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA).

A few months ago, when the company signed the MoU, it had said that it would take only 60% of the workforce, setting off protests from trade unions. DIAL will offer 2,400 IGIA employees a salary hike and a joining bonus, with all existing perks and incentives intact.
