Thick fog disrupts flights on New Year

The first day of 2007 saw thick winter fog enveloping Delhi, throwing air traffic in complete disarray as several domestic and international flights were diverted or cancelled on Monday morning.

The fog had begun settling in from around 8.40 p.m. on Sunday. A total of 16 domestic flights have been cancelled so far with visibility down to 250 metres at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
