AAI to invest Rs.1,000 cr. in infrastructure

The Airport Authority of India (AAI) is investing Rs. 1,000 crore during the current fiscal towards creation of infrastructure at airports across the country, said K. Ramalingam, Chairman of AAI, here on Thursday.

He was addressing officers of the AAI in the southern region after a two-day “Review of the performance of Southern Region Airports.” Of the Rs. 1,000 crore, Rs. 170 crore would be for airports in the southern region.

Last year, the AAI had invested Rs 800 crore. The AAI was looking at greater allocation for infrastructure investments during the 11th Plan period.
