Bidding next year for Mumbai’s new international airport

The city will finally get its second international airport in Navi Mumbai though it will take six years for completion.

With a capacity to handle 55 million passengers a year by 2012, the proposed new airport will be built with an investment of around Rs40 billion (Dh3.33 billion).

Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel said that the bidding process for the airport will start and be completed in 2007.
