DGCA combats fog with airline schedule changes

In order to fight the fog blues at airports, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has made changes in winter schedules of airlines. It has rescheduled 13 departures and 17 arrivals, and cancelled 6 depar-tures and 3 arrivals, of the total number of flights proposed in the winter season of 2006-07 at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) air-port in Delhi.

While none of the flights of Indian Airlines have been rescheduled or cancelled, 2 of Alliance Air, 5 of Air Sahara, 15 of Air Deccan, 7 of Kingfisher Airlines, 4 of SpiceJet and 1 of GoAir have been resched-uled and cancelled. During the fog period (which is from 5 am to 10 am and 8 pm to 12 pm), total departures have come down to 106 from 127 and total arrivals have come down from 117 to 97.
