Air India to start non-stop service to US

State-owned carrier Air India plans to offer non-stop services between USA and India from April 2007, the Parliament was informed on Friday.

With the induction of the new ultra long range aircraft B-777-200LR, Air India plans to offer non-stop services between the US and India from April next year, Minister for Civil Aviation Praful Patel told Parliament, an official release said.

Air India and Air India Express have together placed an order for induction of 68 new aircraft from Boeing and these were being delivered in phases beginning November 2006, it added.
