Season’s first fog hits many flights

First day of fog in Delhi on Tuesday led to chaos at the airport with more than 50 domestic flights getting delayed by over two hours. Of the total delays, domestic operations accounted for 75%, while the international operations did not suffer much as there were not more than half hour delays.

The visibility fell below 50 metre around 6.30am in the morning, and the thick fog that blanketed the airport only started clearing from 9am when most of the flights had already been delayed for more than three hours. Kingfisher irlines 6:30 am flight from Delhi to Mumbai took off only at 10am, a delay of three and a half hours.
