Consociational Democracy is India’s Strongest Weapon in the Future

The consociational democracy is India’s strongest weapon to counter the numerous separatist movements, and ethnic clashes, which peaked with the destruction of the Ayodhya Mosque in 1992. Even though such a democracy results in a large amount of political parties and produces coalition governments of up to 14 parties, it has enabled the political elite to resolve political conflicts in a constructive and democratic way.
